Vivian Maier - the secret photographer.

Vivian Maier February 1, 1926 – April 21, 2009 was a French-American citizen  , who worked as a nanny in Chicago for 45 years. Her employers knew very little about her and described her as a very private person. Her employers children however described her as a Marry Poppins , a nanny who took them on adventures , was quirky and fun. her employers often saw her leave the house on her day off with her Roliflex Camera. however nothing was known of her photography until 2007 when  John Maloof bought 2or 3 large plastic boxes of undeveloped roliflex film from a auction( there were about 8 up for sale), he began developing them out of curiosity and was so taken away by the collection of street photos documenting Chicago e contacted the other buyers of the boxes and offered to buy their boxes. he was now in possession of 100,00 of Vivian Maier's photos, he tried to track the merstious owner of the photos down but she died just months before he found her. he know opens exbitions displaying her work
as you will see the images are breathtaking moments of time captured on film. her work is now considered some of the best street photography.
